Days go by so quickly………..

My days are filled with dog walking and gardening with of a bit of housework in between and we’ve only 2 days left before the long haul of the summer holidays  its seems to have crept up on me like a bite on the bum  ouch !!
The garden is producing plenty of vegetables, today we had our first dwarf cucumber and between me and my eldest  son have eated it all.  The tomatoes are growing well just looking forward to them all ripening up now, the poor sweetcorn took a bit of a bashing the last few days in the wind so we’ve tied them all loosely to canes for just a little support, but they are coming on fantastically and we now have several little tufts of fluff, where the ears of corn are growing.
When we started our project of turning the back garden into an allotment, i really didn’t realise how much fun and pleasure we would get aswell as the sore aching joints and blisters but its all been worth it.  Along the way we’ve made mistakes but have learnt and thrive to do bigger and better next year.  We have plans already to build at least another 3 raised beds, a greenhouse and a corner raised rockery with water feature ( this will actually help dispose of a massive pile of rubble).  At the same time the top fencing on all 3 sides needs replacing, we’ll build areas for composting and install a water butt at the side of the green house.   Omg that sounds like loads still to do… but theres no rush we’re still be here tomorow.
Only a few days ago i was sadly reminded that there was ONLY 160days till christmas ……   aaaahhhh panic i’ve not a penny saved  so as of today i’m going to put away £4 a day and fingers crossed there’ll be enough in the pot for all of christmas.  At the same time to help support putting money away we’re going to try and shop and cook more wisely and an action plan is in the planning
Today has been a good day

Amelia’s 1st birthday

This sunday just gone, we had a family gathering at Amelia’s 1st birthday.  It was great spending some time with the family just chilling and of course a great photo opportunity.

Over this last month i’ve had several photography opportunities, formal gatherings, casual get togethers and then our scenic walks.  I do love taking photos but feel the most enjoyable are the scenic stuff, but want to practice more on people photos.

Still working on putting together a picture album celebrating my nephews christening, but with over 500 plus photos to sieve through it make take some time

what a great few days…….

Well where do i start, loving this warm weather but with it brings lots of watering of the garden, at the time of day when you just want to sit and chill  nevermind the fruits, well i should say veggies of our labour are growing fast.
Last sunday we had a family christening, which was a great family get together day.  Hubby and i had the great honour of being god.parents to 1 of the twins.  They are both gorgeous boys and i think they actually enjoyed thier special day too.
Then on wednesday we desided to take a day off from the rat race and took a picnic and Misha up to Crickley Hill
Every time we do this walk the whole scenery changes and at the moment the place is stunning, every where you look theres another new flower, we also came across some wild strawberries, loads of cherry trees and hazelnut trees too.
So aswell as enjoying the fresh air and quite walk, we were bothing clicking away like mad with our camera’s, think we both came away with nearly 100 photos each and only 1 or 2 of Misha  Hubby caught this bee.
The mood in the house at the moment is a little stressed with the kids summer holiday getting for ever closer.  How to entertain teenage children, with very little money and without leaving them plugged into thier x.boxes 24/7???  So searching for cheap days out and thinking of other things to do   Google here i come ……………..
