Sadly i’m still in a lot of pain with the trapped nerve in my neck/shoulder, off for some pyhsio this afternoon.
Because of the pain i’m struggling to get motivated with my plans to change my diet/exercise routines, actually i have very little motivation or inspiration to do anything much.
I’ve hardly picked up my camera this last month and only managed a few long dog walks although this last 2 weeks snow stopped us being able to get out.
buses kept on going
Before christmas my dear hubby had said yes to taking my eldest and step son to a concert in Birmingham which would involve waiting there while they had fun, that happened this week. So after watching the weather reports very closely we took the drive in our little car, thankfully snow stayed away for the whole evening.
We’ve never been to Birmingham and were really surprised how big everything was, the buildings were so very tall and best of all the shopping centre was huge.

After making sure the boys were at the right venue we took a little walk around, grabbed something to eat then went back to the car to wait ……. surprisingly they were all finished by 10.30pm and got back to the car buzzing and very happy.
I’m slowly collecting new seeds to go in our vegetable plot but as yet i’ve held off sowing anything. Just collecting toilet roll tubes ready for sowing pea’s, bean’s, sweet corn and my favourite ( i know not vegetables either ) sweet pea’s. Because of this very cold spell and the covering of snow i’ve not even gone into the garden much although i did take a few photos as the snow has made it all look quite pretty.
snow snow every where
My ‘girls’ have all had a check up at the vets and are all healthy apart from Misha who is perhaps a little over wieght. Watching them discover the snow in the back garden was like watching three puppies playing.

Hopefully in the very near future i’ll get into my new routines and this will include some more regular blogging.
Well its now the 11th January and as yet i’ve not really blogged, dieted, exercise or started any of the challenges or goals i want to get done, all due to a trapped nerve in my neck.
Its been nearly 5 weeks of general discomfort during the day which increases by evening into pain that just sends me too bed. Now after regular pain relieve and physiotherapy things seem to be getting slightly better.
I still have lots planned and hope to make a start very soon.
Today the sun was out for a few hours so i took advantage and went out with my camera.
For nearly 4yrs now we’ve converted the top 2 3rds of our garden into a veg plot and still class myself as a novice but we’ve had a go at growing our own veg. This new growing season i’d like to document the new growth and changes through the seasons of our little plot.
At the front of the house i have 2 old Belfast sinks which make great planters. Looks like it won’t be long and i’ll have a nice show of daffodils.
In the veggie plot there is also small signs of the new season being not far away.
Garlic i planted back in October (taking Monty Don’s advice ) Never grown it before so will be interesting to see what happens there.
I’ve bought a few packets of seeds to start some seeds early. Leeks will be another vegetable i’ve never grown before and over the next week or so i’ll get some potting compost in from the garden to warm up and then sow just a few seeds and then when they germinated i’ll sow some more, also plan to do that with some chilli and pepper seeds too.
Thats probably all the vegetables i’ll so in January but any spare dry time i get i’ll work on clearing and tidying the garden, its surprising how much algae has appeared on the paths ( a job for the jet wash).
Also need to rearrange the seats and tables so i can set up my small green house in the sunniest and most sheltered part of the garden, so its ready to home the over flow from the kitchen window sill 🙂
I do have a few shrubs but i think because i need the space i’m going to have to re.home my 2 Azalea’s and my biggest Hydrangea. (think mum my take them for me)

wet and miserable
Everything is still very wet and miserable, even slimy in places but there are a few tiny signs of spring which is so exciting.
Hope everybody had a good holiday. I was absolutely bought to tears when i opened a box of chocolates only to find a kindle fire (was looking for a hazelnut whirl 😉 ) hubbs had really surprised me on that one, so i felt totally spoilt.
The holiday break was very quiet… in fact too quiet 😦 i had plans to get out the wii and get some family games going but some how a few weeks ago i’ve manage to trap a nerve in my neck and for most of the time i’ve been in too much pain to do anything and sorry hubbs but yes i’ve been pretty miserable.
Oh well the kids have just done what they wanted eat, sleep and play on one cyber toy or another.
