I continue to try and be more aware of my mood on a daily basis …work is keeping me busy so the majority of the time I’m keeping to busy to think. I continue to try and forward plan especially when it comes to cooking my meals and fitting in the odd household chore.
This in turn is helping with my weight loss and again that is a great mood boost. Loosing 10.5lb in 9wks 🙂 I’m happy with that. One of the items I hope to feature more in my blogs in the coming year will be my weight loss journey including my favourite recipes, weight updates and any hints or tips I find that work for me.
Well that last week of annual leave flew by an in fact I got very little of the things I wanted to do .. done
but not going to stress over it .. life just sometimes gets in the way of things.
So a quick look over 2017 …. what have I achieved ….
I suppose the biggest achievement has been my registered nurse qualification quickly followed by a job that I really enjoy. At my age the last thing I want is a fantastic promotion chasing career, more of a job that I can grow into and just get better at. I love to share my knowledge and ideals of caring for people so look forward to working with others to do that.
Because of the two job moves there just didn’t seem to be the right time available to do the travelling I had hoped and I still have the chore of sorting out passports for both Hubbs and I which will enable to achieved that travel. So adding that to the top of my list of ”TO DO’s’ for the New Year. Instead we have managed to make a start on the new restyling of our home and garden which will be continued into next year.
Travel …that will happen in 2018 …. any suggestions where to go ?? Never flown before and not good with too much sunshine and heat ?
There’s never enough of it and I’m always running out….
Everyday seems to be a battle, despite getting up early and going to bed late …. there’s still never enough hours in the day. On a daily basis (mainly days off ) I plan the night before what I want to get done and most days I stick to it, giving me that sense of achievement at the end of the day. I try and do a mix of chores and ‘me stuff’ which then means I actually end up enjoying both.
So I shop, cook, clean and tidy to then reward myself with time in the garden (weather permitting) or with my sewing machine which is a priority at the moment with a craft fare coming up in October I need to build up my stock. I buy fabric from charity shops or at sale prices which I then turn into small bags and fabric tubs then in turn sell them to make enough money to replenish my fabric stock. Much more rewarding and healthier than taking medication to keep me sane.
So both hubbs and I have changed our jobs reducing the hours that we are out at work, this was done to start having quality time and work on our bucket list and refreshing are home enough to be able to sit back and enjoy rather that always having something that needs doing.
At the age of 50plus I’ve never owned a passport or been up in a plane … I’d like to see some of those sights I’ve only ever seen on the telly …. canals of Venice… the northern lights …. are there seas really that blue..
Like I said at the start…. time is running out and so precious …. so much I want to do …. I treasure every moment I get to spend with my granddaughter and look forward to meeting my next grandchild in February. The children are grown adults now and finding their own individual way.
Yesterday something very big in my life happened …. I became a very proud grandparent.
A great start to what I hope to be a very memorable year as it is also my 50th birthday in February, my darling hubbs is also 50 in May… my or I should say our plans are to live a bit this year. The children are all old enough to manage without us for a few days freeing us up to travel a bit.
This is hopefully going to be the first of many new blogs following my 50th year and our adventures and also the odd trial and tribulations of life. I’ll pop back in a few days to perhaps do an outline of our celebration plans for the year, just felt as the dogs had got me up at some stupid time before I had to go to work i’d make a start.
Not a greatly flattering photo but need to take a few more and download to new laptop…. but this is Ruby my very gorgeous granddaughter.
Well be back soon better go get ready for work 🙂
Have a lovely day and thank you for taking the time to read my blog …it will get better I promise 🙂
